This article is about small clipped planchet errors on coins that generally do not have planchet errors. It is rare to see clip errors in some series and on some individual coin designs. Many of the coins below have the only error that I have ever seen on that design making it quite rare. A few of the coins below are also proofs which have a higher degree of inspection and really should not have been released. Modern error coins from 2002 on are much rarer than earlier dates because of closer mint scrutiny. I find it exciting when I see an error, even a small one, on a coin that I personally have never seen any errors on.

I will start off with this rare American Silver Eagle error coin. There really should not be any planchet errors on this modern silver proof. This nice visible clip on a high grade coin makes this coin very collectable.

There are not many clipped planchet errors in the Walking Liberty silver half dollar series. This beautiful coin has a nice visible clip and a nice grade. Not many error collectors can have a nice planchet error on Walking Liberty half dollar because of its rarity.

I have a short set of clipped planchet errors on the classic silver commemorative half dollar series. Below is a clip error on the 1935 Bay Bridge Commemorative Half Dollar. I prefer the coins in this series that have exceptional designs. Finding a rare error on a coin with a design that I like is a huge plus.

Although this is a very small clip, it is still an error coin. Having a very rare clipped planchet error on one of the United States most popular designs is just amazing.

Clipped planchet errors on proof coins are quite rare. Double clipped proof errors are even rarer. This very rare 2001 Vermont Statehood Quarter with a double clip has it all. The coin has a great design and a double error on a proof coin.

Here is an extremely rare coin. Modern mint errors from 2002 until present are rare. Errors in the America Beautiful series are very rare. Errors on modern proof coins are extremely rare. Add to that, this is also a silver proof making this an error coin that should not exist.

Below is another coin that is extremely rare. This is the only error that I have seen on a 2019 River Of No Return Quarter. The nice visible elliptical clip makes this coin very rare and collectable.

This is one of the larger clip errors in this article. This 2017 D Effigy Mounds Quarter has a nice double clip on it. The reason I included it is that this is the only error that I have seen on an Effigy Mounds Quarter. I really like the unique design on this quarter, the double error and rarity makes this a super cool error coin.

Below is an amazing error coin. This is the only known double clip on an Oregon Trail Commemorative silver half dollar. This is one of the favorite designs and coins to own in the general numismatic community. This unique double clipped planchet error makes this coin extremely collectable.
