This amazingly rare modern cent major error coin has so much going on. The Shield Cent was struck three times, two of which are off center. It is also largely broadstruck. Interestingly, this coin also has a large struck thru error that happened during the second slightly off center strike. The third strike is way off center with a uniface obverse.

The Shield Cent Series has only had a handful of major mint errors released. There is an astonishing amount of errors occurring on this coin making this one extremely rare. Only a few Shield Cent errors have been graded in mint state condition. I purchased this coin raw and submitted for grading. It came back as: 2016 PCGS MS63RD Triple Struck, 2nd & 3rd Off Center, Struck Thru Reverse, Broadstruck Shield Cent Mint Error. This coin is one of the biggest and best mint state Shield Cent errors known. It is possibly also the latest dated modern United States Cent displaying multiple major errors.
