This rare major error is a 25 Centimes from Luxembourg that was double struck with die rotation between the first and second strike. Two full dates are easily seen along with many other design details being double struck and present on both the obverse and reverse face.
A low mintage issue, it was struck for only one year and was intended to replace the bronze 25 Centimes as ordered by the Grand Duchy decree dated 14 February, 1939. This 25 Centimes is comprised of Nickel-Silver, (64.3% Copper, 20.2% Zinc and 15.5% Nickel).
