When I published my small book about error coins in Sweden in 1991 I knew of only one other book made outside North America, a book from Switzerland that came out in 1988. The increasing interest in collecting error coins is reflected by a lot of books published in the last 10-15 years. Certainly the internet has had importance in boosting error coin collecting globally. Here I will list error coin books from other nations outside US. It is a pity that no book has a summary or word list in English (not even mine), but most have nice pictures on types of errors. Here I want to especially mention Jean-Claude Chorts book about French error coins, which was released in 2009. The book contains nice pictures of how different errors are made. I think it is one of the best books made about error coins. Most of these books can be found on Ebay or Amazon.com.

My Swedish book is out of print and is hard to find. One thing I think is worth mentioning is that there is no book published yet in Great Britain or Australia even though I know that there are a lot of error collectors there. This list may not be complete and therefore I am always happy for information about book articles about world error coins. I know that there is a book about Mexican Error Coins (have not found any copy of it!) and a catalog that includes a big section about Canadian Error Coins. Mike Byers’ beautiful book Worlds Greatest Mint Errors is not listed here since his work mainly refers to US error coins.
